The Drowsy Chaperone presented by CharACTers and Gadsden State
Winner of five 2006 Tony Awards, including Best Original Score and Best Book of a Musical, The Drowsy Chaperone follows a man in a chair who shares his favorite recording with the audience: the cast recording of a fictitious 1928 musical. The musical comes alive around the man in the chair as the story follows two lovers on the eve of their wedding, the foibles of a well-meaning best man, gangsters in disguise, a hilarious ladies’ man, the eponymous drowsy chaperone, and the entire cast of madcap characters. The Drowsy Chaperone is a rollicking adventure that carries audiences along on a comedy of errors with an abundance of uproarious mishaps, complete with a host of show-topping numbers and an abundance of laughs.
