Third Thursday in the Gardens
Outstanding Hollies and Osmanthus for Alabama The hollies and false-hollies are a wonderful group of trees and shrubs for Alabama landscapes. Both species are tough plants that thrive in our summer heat and humidity, but reward us with evergreen foliage, berries, and blooms in autumn and winter. The tiny flowers of Osmanthus add fragrance rivaled by few other southern shrubs. The hollies add festive berries in the holiday season that are perfect as decorations and greenery. Come join us to see a selection of false-hollies and true hollies that make your gardens stand out in the cooler seasons. The program will be held in the James P. Roberts Education Room at LBG. To reserve your spot, call Anniston Museum at 256-237-6766. Reservations are required. Cost is $5.00 per person and free to members. Payment is to be made at time of reservation.
