V-Day JSU
Alpha Psi Omega, Sociology Club, and WISE present Jacksonville State University's benefit production of Eve Ensler's "The Vagina Monologues".
About "The Vagina Monologues": "An Obie Award-winning whirlwind tour of a forbidden zone, 'The Vagina Monologues' introduces a wildly divergent gathering of female voices, including a six-year-old girl, a septuagenarian New Yorker, a vagina workshop participant, a woman who witnesses the birth of her granddaughter, a Bosnian survivor of rape, and a feminist happy to have found a man who 'liked to look at it.'"
Proceeds from the show will go to 2nd Chance, a local organization that provides shelter and support to victims of domestic and sexual violence and seeks to create awareness of and strengthen the movement to end this violence in the community, and One Billion Rising, an international effort to give "sharper focus and visibility to the exploitation of women and to harness even stronger global solidarity to demand an end to violence in all forms."
