About Us

Nestled in the foothills of the Talladega National Forest in Cleburne County, Alabama, the Chief Ladiga Creekside Cottage is an inviting escape. Need a weekend to recharge? Spend some time with friends and family? Look no further. Located just off the Silver Comet / Chief Ladiga Trail, Little Terrapin Creek, and Pinhoti Appalachian Trail, you can enjoy all the finer things in nature close to ‘home.’

The Jones-Sowell Family began in Cape Coral, Florida, where we lived for 17 years. Over time, we desired a change - to raise our family in the simplicity of small-town America. With that, a map of Alabama started it all. Our grandmother closed her eyes, and with the swish of finger, she landed on Piedmont, Alabama and the rest is history. Centrally located between Chattanooga, Atlanta, and Birmingham, we visited the city and fell in love. We broke ground on this family home in 2007 and lived here for over 10 years before our children grew up and left the nest. Today, the Chief Ladiga Creekside Cottage has become a refuge, not only for the local fauna, but also for our family.

We hope you love our home as much as we do and look forward to your stay,

- The Jones-Sowell Family
